Benjamin Styles Goodwin, Sr.August 13, 1940 - January 09, 2012

Savannah- Benjamin Styles Goodwin, Jr., 71, passed away Monday, January 09, 2012 at Hospice House.
Ben was a native and life long resident of Savannah, growing up in what was known as Montgomery Community. He attended Savannah High School before being drafted into the U.S. Army. For forty eight years, he was a member of the Pipefitters Local #188 and a long time member of Montgomery Presbyterian Church. He was a loving family man and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Benjamin Styles Goodwin, Sr. and Margaret Hutson Goodwin; brothers, Jimmy Goodwin, Tommy Goodwin, and sisters, Barbara "Punk" Goodwin, and Pamela Shepard.
He is survived by his wife of forty nine years, Virginia Kennedy Goodwin of Savannah; son, Scott Goodwin Sherry of Pooler; daughter, Hope Sumner Phil of Statesboro, sister, Betty Klingel of Centreville, VA; grandchildren, Ansley, Lillie, and Maddie Sumner, of Statesboro, Cole, Ally and Lexie Goodwin of Pooler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors with Rev. Craig Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
